Project Management Overview

We take pride in offering our clients expert project management services, leveraging our extensive experience of working with multi-national oil and gas companies and their project specialists. Below is an overview of our largest managed project to date and completed a couple of years ago:

  • Delivered a total of 46 VS4 and VS4-ETM pumps, complete with motors, seal plans, and seal panels to support project requirements.
  • Provided a comprehensive turnkey service, from advice on pump system design versus operating environment; management of a complex supply chain to manufacture the required bespoke pump systems; close co-operation with all stakeholders and always maintained enthusiasm and commitment.
  • Compiled detailed Manufacturing Record Books for each pump system in line with client requirements with each one containing over 1,000 pages and translated into two languages.

Challenges Encountered

The overall scope of the PSIL project was successfully completed without major issues. However, we faced several key challenges, which we addressed with the following mitigations:

  • Tight Engineering Schedule: Conducted regular project team meetings to promptly identify and resolve issues.
  • Personnel Changes (PSIL and Client): Ensured timely updates for all parties and onboarded replacements early to facilitate a smooth handover.
  • Changes in Seal Types Early On: Adapted to changes in seal specifications during the design phase, which required adjusting the seal system purchase order to align with revised project needs.
  • Time Zone Coordination (Kazakhstan, U.K., and India): Ensured that project team members confirmed attendance for scheduled meetings, enabling all stakeholders to stay up to date in real time.
  • Seal Testing and Understanding: Organized discussions with the seal vendor to review and approve the project TEA, allowing progress to continue.
  • Impacts of the Global Pandemic: Facilitated remote participation for Factory Acceptance Testing, Performance Testing, and equipment packing.
  • Completion and Approval of Project Documentation: Maintained daily trackers for all key personnel to ensure consistent updates on progress and to ensure deadlines were met as previously agreed.

  • Adhering to tight deadlines, supplemented by additional staffing to ensure project requirements were met.
  • Timely submission of crucial project documentation, aiding the smooth implementation of all manufacturing and shipping processes.
  • Completed the project without significant disruptions, ensuring continuity in manufacturing, testing, packing, and shipping of equipment and spares.
  • Promptly addressed and closed out any Technical Evaluation Requests (TEAs) or Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) from the client.
  • Achieved project completion with an excellent safety record despite challenges.
  • Provided site services to implement last-minute project changes effectively.
